Weekend Caption Contest

Actually, it's not a contest - since I have no prizes to award - and also because I'm not an objective judge. But have fun.

Make it a single line or write a meandering dialog. There are no rules.

Here's the pic. (I got permission to use this photo for an upcoming album.) I'm a big fan of the technicolor saturated 1960s look. I think this was originally for an Airstream brochure.

  • Having already lost out to Frank DeKova for the starring role of Chief Wild Eagle in the popular 1960’s sitcom F-Troop for looking too much like a real indian, “Freddy", the son of famed Sioux Indian chief Red Tomahawk is seen here in one last attempt to kick-start a career in show-biz by selling roadside trinkets to tourists.

However, shortly after this photo was taken, a semi-truck clipped the Airstream, and in a cruel twist of fate, (some might say irony, I wouldn’t), little Jimmy Morrison happened upon the scene. The resulting carnage would eventually become yet one more example of the exploitation of Native Americans without compensation, as the royalties from Peace Frog would ultimately revert to the Morrison estate upon Jim’s death.

What a kick in the nuts.

  • It was the DeKova ref that killed it for me, right?

(He said slamming head on desk.)

  • Actually, MTLB - that was a pretty good one. The judges reviewed ALL of the entries, looked in Wikipedia for DeKova as well as Peace Frog - and determinded - after very close scrutiny and much time - that YOU win!
    (ding ding ding)

You can have Parker's book if it ever shows up and I skim through it.
