Rolling Stone Goes for Tween Girl Audience

Thanks a lot, RS. I needed this thing in my home.

You can't be all things to all people. Don't tween girls have their own magazines? This is some serious Seventeen or Tiger Beat material. Have you found your core audience dwindling, Rolling Stone? I can tell you why!

  • Atleast it isn't John Edwards pawing himself on the cover. Keerist.

  • That guy is annoying.

And that's all I'm going to say about that...

  • if you had called out efron in the header and copy of the post, your tween traffic would have gone through the roof.

  • Last 5 covers:

    This guy.
Appetite for Destruction Turns 20 (Who F-ing cares?)
    RS Turns 40
    RS Turns 40
    RS Turns 40

They try to be hip-hop, rock, emo, indie, political (left only), green, hippie, punk and techie. Oh, and now tween show tunes.

  • Think about who the publisher of Rolling Stone is....

  • I think Rolling Stone has a strong history of placing sexy belly baring pictures of barely legal pop sensations on their cover. And thats Efron. He is the face of High School Musical, which must have a fan-base beyond tweens or it wouldn't be so damn everywhere. Rolling Stones is just following tradition, maybe not one akin to Lester Bangs, but a tradition nonetheless.
