The Evacuation Has Begun
Here's the local Albertson's as the dismantling of the store begins. It will soon be a Publix. The purchase of 49 Albertson's by Publix cost the Florida-based chain $500 million. Many fear that less competition will mean higher prices. As far as I could tell, Albertson's always had the higher prices anyway.
In typical Albertson's rip-off fashion, they advertised an "everything must go" sale where all merchandise would be discounted up to 60% off. Only greeting cards were marked down 60%. Everything else was marked up before they marked it down.
Get out of my neighborhood, Albertson's. And don't come back.

I guess you have never experienced a liquidation sale before...everything doesn't just jump to the really cheap prices. Maybe if you considered the fact that they were trying to stay open for a certain amount of time so that employees who were getting screwed could continue to get a paycheck you could be slightly more considerate to the employees. Regarding your price complaints, before you bitch find out your facts. It's not Albertsons changing the prices or the percentages, it was a liqiduation company who bought Albertsons stock. So stop all your bitching until you get the facts and really if you have so much time to sit here and constantly complain about a grocery store maybe you need a job yourself so that shitty ass people like you can treat YOU badly...a little taste of your own medicine. Maybe you'll develop a new found respect for hard working people in shitty retail jobs.

Dear Anonymous Albertson's lover:
Thank you for the education on liquidation companies.
Maybe if Albertson's wasn't such a shitty store with shitty employees, people wouldn't be "getting screwed." I've never been rude to a store employee, but I have consistently encountered rudeness from Albertson's employees.
As for a job, I have two, thanks anyway. As for retail, I've done it, and as recently as five years ago was a lowly stock boy at a grocery store.
It's called "customer service," and the attitude you convey in your bitchy little anonymous comments (one of which I deleted because it was so stupid) reveal the reason a store like Albertson's is suffering. You can't just call yourself "hard-working." You have to show it to the people who are paying your salary...the people who shop at the store you supposedly work so hard for.
Albertson's sucks, so get over yourself. The market proved it by abandoning them.
To your other point of why do I keep shopping there if it's so bad - it happened to be occasionally convenient to my commute home from one of my jobs. Thankfully, I won't have that option anymore.
