I'm Warning You

Ladies: You can wear these if you want. So can children. I'm talking to men. Guys, if you have these in your wardrobe, I'm guessing you work in new media and think you're really smart.

In three years, you will cringe at the memory of wearing these. You probably won't even admit it to your children.

Or maybe I'm just a laggard when it comes to fashion. Still, I can't see the appeal. And I can't ever see these on my feet.

  • They aren't just ugly. They're fugly.

I can say proudly that I've never owned a pair... and we make fun of friend's that do.

On a semi-related note, over a year ago my mother was wearing those and the sole of the shoe caught on the linoleum floor and pitched her forward into a door frame. We are still dealing with the physical therapy.

Fugly shoes that can almost kill you.

  • I almost got a pair when buying some for my 3 year old....I fell into some sort of trance where thoughts of my childhood cascaded through my brain manifesting in images of the die-cast glory of yesteryear: star wars action figures (esp. 'greedo'), GI Joe, and rockem sockem boxing. I snapped out of it when my little girl says "Daddy! You get pink and green too!".....but, hey - they look cute on her! :o)

  • I worked at a camp a few years ago and every adult AND child AND infant that wore these things was a complete and total asshat. No exceptions.

  • These are one of the few fashion trends that worked their way from the hinterlands to the coasts, rather than the other way around
