Squatting on her bathroom scale in utter horror and disbelief, this obese model is REPULSED. Perhaps she can get paid to lose some of that flab. What a disgusting cow.

Okay, I'm not a native speaker, but still - shouldn't she rather be repulsed *by* her weight (or by the inane ad)? Or was that your point and I missed it?
She looks a bit like Rodin's Thinker. Maybe he, too, was repulsed by his weight.

Textferry, you are correct that she would be repulsed "by" rather than "with" her weight, but my point was that we have created a culture of women who suffer from body image issues, and this ad only enforces those perceptions.
And I always find that Germans who speak English speak it better than native speakers.

You're right, of course, but in a way, the repulsive ad is more honest than all the other ones that work with desire rather than fear. After all, they don't want women to feel better. They want to capitalize on them feeling shitty. It's creepy. A lot of women probably think that the ad "gets" them - because "repulsed" is exactly how they feel. The whole thing is really, really twisted and sick.

Ah, that would indeed be twisted. Maybe a woman who's survived years of hell in bulimiaworld and now applies her experience to the wonderful field of advertising. Or maybe she's being sarcastic and the whole thing is part of her healing process.
