Don’t take this the wrong way, but there’s something about this series that isn’t quite working yet. However, I’m sure you’ll get there eventually. I definitely think it’s a brilliant idea. But for some reason, it doesn’t have the twists that your other series have (the cold-call dude, the 50s office meeting shot, even the headline band names). Wish I had some good direction or advice. Again, I think you’ll get there. Maybe the copy needs to be more stupid like LOLCats. I don’t know. Sorry.
no, i honestly don't think it should be shelved. like i said, there is a brilliant idea at the core.
i keep going back to some of your other series. maybe it's the contrast of the old visuals with the cynical modern copy. i don't know.
but this series seems just a step away from having the perfect hook. maybe it does involve being truer to ripping off lolcats, with the misspellings and big type. or maybe it's about inserting the real-life bullshit business remarks you and i hear daily and putting them against the stupid visual.
again, i don't know what the answer is yet. but this idea is a good one.
Back when we were kids, the advertising people told us that "in the future" we'd all be free from disease and living in peace, flying around with our own jetpacks. The future is now...and we're still waiting.
